Our story
The Central Terrace Cooperative is a not-for-profit housing association that is formed for the purpose of owning affordable residential property on a cooperative basis and letting individual dwelling units to members of the corporation under an Occupancy Agreement.


Our history
Origins and Development

Built in 1949: The original structures were repurposed Army barracks from World War II, located along Bishop Washington Avenue.

Established as a cooperative in 1954: It officially became a nonprofit housing co-op, offering affordable housing options to families in the area.

The community consists of 150 housing units spread across more than 50 buildings, featuring one-, two-, and three-bedroom townhomes.
